Tutu cute

These sweet red and white tutus are available on Etsy for $15 - $20.

Cuteness hall of fame

I'm in love . . .

This picture is ADORABLE!!!!!  And the red razorback tee is pretty cute too!

Check out Smash Cake Couture on Etsy - the cutest Razorback kids clothes I've ever seen!

Practical shmactical . . .

Okay, so a clutch isn't exactly practical for tailgating (how do you hold a beer and a hot dog with a clutch in your hand?  And you can't really fit a scarf and gloves in there), but this one is so cute - it would be perfect for a night out on the town after the game.

Game time!

Cute red watch by Ice Watch.

Cozy oversized scarves - love it or hate it?

Apparently, this fall scarves are growing to cartoon-like proportions.  While I'm not sure if I'm ready to embrace this kinda-goofy trend, this one  from Diesel sure looks soft and warm . . .

Bundle up

Keep warm with this simple but cute red plaid scarf from Kohls.  Now on sale for $16.80.

Local color

Even though the game didn't go our way last week, the tailgating was a huge success.  Here are a few cute photos from Kelsey Stroud - a D.C. resident and die-hard Razorback fan who made the trek to Northwest Arkansas for the Alabama game.  I love these adorable pics; they demonstrate exactly what this blog is all about:  good times, good friends, and great style!

Pumpkin dip, two ways

As the weather cools, I always find myself wanting pumpkin-flavored goodies.  Here are two types of pumpkin dip for your next tailgate, one sweet and one savory.

SWEET PUMPKIN DIP

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar

  • 1 (15 ounce) can solid pack pumpkin

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice

  • 1 teaspoon frozen orange juice concentrate

  • In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until smooth. Gradually mix in the pumpkin. Stir in the cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and orange juice until smooth and well blended. Chill until serving.  Serve with apple slices, graham crackers or ginger snaps, and pretzel sticks.

    SAVORY PUMPKIN DIP

8 oz cream cheese (regular or low fat)
6 Tbsp Muirhead or Williams Sonoma Pumpkin Butter
                 2 Tbsp bacon pieces

                 2 Tbsp chopped pecans
                 2 scallions, finely chopped

Beat cream cheese with Muirhead  Pecan Pumpkin Butter until smooth and creamy. At this point, either beat the bacon pieces and scallions into the cream cheese mixture or scrape the cream cheese mixture into a serving bowl and garnish the surface with the bacon pieces and scallions. Refrigerate or serve immediately with crackers. Serves 12.

Next weekend, make tailgating at Cowboys Stadium easy

Rather than trying to whip up a travel-friendly tailgate feast to take with you, just stop by Buffalo Wild Wings on the way - it's 0.4 miles from the stadium, so your food will still be piping hot when you set up your tailgate spread.

It may not be gourmet, but football, beer, and chicken wings just go together!

Call ahead and place your order (817-860-2999) - they have 50 wings for $34.99 - and pick it up on the way to the game.

Beer coozie as cute accessory? Yep!

This gray and red felted coozie will match your outfit and keep your drink cold.

    This flask is cute . . .

but just remember that getting thrown out of the game for being an obnoxious drunk is definitely not.

Red and white polka dot flask.

Go play and let mommy drink in peace

Whether you're hosting a kid-friendly tailgate party or bringing your little ones to someone else's gathering, bring along a few distractions to keep the small fries entertained so you'll never have to hear "Mommy, I'm BORED."

This pop-up red tent from Ikea is easy to transport and only costs $14.99.  Unfortunately, it's not available online, so you'd have to stop by a store.

This sponge ring toss game is a lot less likely to cause accidental injury than horesehoes or ladderball.  The price is inexpensive enough ($9.99) that you won't worry too much if it gets destroyed or left behind.  I've included this instead of baggo or washers because, really, the dads would immediately commandeer those games, but they're probably less likely to take over a kiddie sponge ring toss game.

All this color-your-own-playhouse needs is an Arkansas Razorbacks flag.

If you'll be tailgating in a parking lot, sidewalk chalk will allow the kids to decorate the area.  Teach them how to draw razorbacks and write "woo pig sooie!"

Another tip - make sure you have plenty of kid-friendly food on hand, such as hot dogs, chicken nuggets, carrot sticks, goldfish crackers, and a juice.
